How to Use Japanese Woodworking Tools

Pull saws are common in yard work, but the background of those saws is woodworking. By being used on the pull, the blade can be made of thinner steel leaving a thinner kerf (removing less material) and requiring less effort. Wilbur Pan has been a woodworker for many years, primarily focusing on Japanese hand. In this video, he discusses how Japanese saws are made, how to set up the handle, how they work, the various types of saws available and how to use them in a shop. He also shares his knowledge on the differences between hand-forged and machine made saws, and what benefits each process offers. These saws are great for handsaw beginners or anyone who is not getting satisfying results with their current handsaw.
