About the Host:

Toshio Odate came to the United States in 1958 with one-year plan of introducing to the country Japanese woodworking tools before moving on. Instead, he began a long and storied teaching career and built an international reputation for his work as a sculptor and woodworker. In his “retirement,” he continues to sculpt and build in his Connecticut shop, and shares lessons of a lifetime through magazine articles, books, videos and more.
